Traditional Links Golf on the Somerset Coast

Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy genuine links golf in a setting that feels both open and unspoilt. Set along the north Somerset coast, the course looks out across the Bristol Channel with the Brendon Hills forming a striking backdrop to the inland holes.

The course is compact in footprint but rewarding to play. Firm fairways, well protected greens and the influence of the coastal wind place an emphasis on judgement and shot selection rather than raw distance. Conditions vary from day to day, which means each round presents a slightly different challenge.

What Visitors Can Expect

Visitors are always warmly welcomed and the experience extends beyond the course itself. The Pro Shop team are available to assist with bookings, equipment hire and any questions ahead of your round. After golf, the 19th Bar and Restaurant provides a relaxed and friendly place to enjoy food or a drink, whether you are finishing your day or meeting others.

On quieter days, it is not unusual to see a steam train from the West Somerset Railway passing along the boundary, adding to the character of a round here.

Year Round Play and Course Conditions

Thanks to its coastal position and free draining ground, the course remains playable throughout the year and is rarely closed due to weather. Winter golf is a particular strength, with firm surfaces allowing the ball to run as links golf should.

Buggies, motorised trolleys, push trolleys and clubs are available for hire, subject to availability. If you require any assistance ahead of your visit, the Pro Shop will be happy to advise.

Booking a Tee Time

Tee times can be booked easily using our online booking system below. All visitor bookings require payment in full at the time of booking.
