Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club welcomes new members, whether you have played golf for many years or are returning to the game after time away. Joining is straightforward, there is currently no waiting list, and our range of membership options is designed to suit different lifestyles and levels of play.

Members enjoy access to a beautifully maintained links course that is playable throughout the year, with firm fairways, excellent greens and constantly changing conditions that keep the game interesting. The course provides a rewarding challenge without being intimidating, making it enjoyable for golfers of all abilities.

More Than Just a Place to Play Golf

While the course is at the heart of the club, membership offers much more than golf alone. Minehead and West Somerset is a friendly, inclusive club with a strong sense of community. New members are made to feel welcome from the outset, and help is always available if you would like to be introduced to playing partners or take part in competitions and social golf.

The clubhouse provides a relaxed setting to meet friends, enjoy food and drink, and take part in social events throughout the year. Many members value the balance between competitive golf and the informal, social side of the club just as highly.

Flexible Membership Options

We offer a variety of membership categories to suit different playing patterns, including full playing, flexible, afternoon and social options, along with age related memberships for juniors and young adults. A monthly payment plan is available for most categories, making membership accessible and easy to manage.

New to Golf or Returning After a Break

If you are new to golf, or would like a supported route back into the game, our Pathway 2 Golf Membership provides a welcoming introduction. This includes coaching, access to practice facilities and supervised playing opportunities, helping you build confidence at your own pace.

The Membership Subscription year runs for one year form the date of joining
Age related memberships are based on age at the date of joining
Country Memberships are based on travel time from permanent home address to MWSGC according to Google Maps

National and County Union Affiliation Fees are added to your subscription at the prevailing rate.
Payment by monthly installment plan is available for most categories (subject to application)

Membership Term and Conditions

1. (a) Membership of the Company shall be open to anyone interested in the sport of golf regardless of age, sex, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religious or other beliefs provided that the directors may impose limitations upon membership numbers on a non-discriminatory basis having regard to available facilities.

(b) The Club may have different classes of membership and subscription on a non-discriminatory and fair basis as decided by the directors.

(c) The directors may refuse membership only for good cause such as conduct or character likely to bring the Club or the sport of golf into disrepute.

(d) A member of the Company may only be an individual and not a body corporate or a partnership.

(e) Save for the members of Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club at the date of, and who are admitted as members of the Company in accordance with the terms of, the Acquisition no person shall thereafter become a member of the Company unless that person has completed an application for membership in a form approved by the directors and such application has been approved by the directors or by such other person(s) to whom the directors shall have delegated such power of approval. Membership of the Company may be offered in different categories as determined from time to time in accordance with the Articles. All members shall be entitled to receive notice of general meetings of the Company. The members in general meeting shall determine which classes of members shall be voting members .

Membership FAQ

Do you currently have a waiting list?

No. We are currently welcoming new members and there is no waiting list. Applications are reviewed promptly and we aim to make the joining process as straightforward as possible.

Is there a joining fee?

No. There is no joining fee at Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club. You simply pay the annual subscription for your chosen membership category, plus the relevant England Golf and County affiliation fees.

Can I pay my membership by monthly instalments?

Yes. A monthly instalment plan is available for most membership categories over £250, subject to application. This allows you to spread the cost of your membership over the year.

What types of membership do you offer?

We offer a range of membership categories to suit different playing habits, including full playing, flexible, afternoon, social and age-related memberships for juniors and young adults. Full details and current rates are available in the Membership Pack.

I am new to golf. Can I still join?

Absolutely. New golfers are very welcome. Our Pathway 2 Golf Membership provides a supported introduction to the game, including coaching, use of practice facilities and supervised playing opportunities to help build confidence.

Will I be able to find people to play with?

Yes. If you are joining on your own, we are happy to help introduce you to other members and playing groups. We have WhatApp Members groups to help you fin a game and Members Roll Up's to intriduce you to other welcoming members. Many new members find this support particularly helpful in their first few months.

Are members expected to play in competitions?

No. While we have a full competition calendar for those who enjoy competitive golf, there is no obligation to play in competitions. Many members prefer casual and social golf, and both are equally valued at the club.

How far in advance can members book tee times?

Members can book tee times up to 14 days in advance, in line with their membership category.

Can I bring guests to play?

Yes. Members benefit from preferential green fees for guests, subject to limits outlined in the Membership Pack. This allows you to invite friends and family to enjoy the course with you.

Is the clubhouse included with membership?

Yes. Members have access to the clubhouse seven days a week and can enjoy food, drinks and social events throughout the year. Social membership is also available for those who wish to enjoy the clubhouse without playing golf.

How do I apply for membership?
